This yarn is made in South Africa from the highest quality Kid Mohair and Silk (mulberry silk). 

Silky Kid RMS, made from 72% mohair and 28% silk (mulberry silk), at an attractive price. At 28 microns, the mohair belongs to the kid mohair class; only superkid mohair is softer!

RMS stands for Responsible Mohair Standard and guarantees not only complete traceability throughout the entire supply chain, but above all, that the animals are kept in humane conditions and gently sheared.

The yarn is produced for us in South Africa and is truly a dream! The colors have been carefully selected to match the shades of the standard yarns. This makes it an excellent companion yarn for other projects.

As of 2023 there has been a gradual transition of the colours to certified RMS (Responsible Mohair Standards), making Silky Kid one of the first yarn brands to become certified.
